How we collect and check this information
This page explains where our information comes from, what we check, what we deliberately leave empty, and how to read the labels in our comparison table. If something here does not match what you find on a provider's website, we would rather hear about it than have it stay wrong.
Where the information comes from
Everything in the directory comes from sources the provider publishes themselves — their imprint, service pages, pricing pages, FAQs and terms. Company details such as legal form, register entry and registered office are taken from the imprint, since that is the entry the company is responsible for keeping accurate.
For anything about the regulation itself, we use official sources: the regulation text, the Zentrale Stelle Verpackungsregister, and German legislation. We do not use comparison portals or affiliate sites as a source for factual claims, because those carry commercial incentives we cannot see.
What "last verified" means
Each provider entry carries a date. That is the day someone actually opened the provider's pages and confirmed what is shown here. It is not an automated check and it is not a guarantee that nothing has changed since.
Prices carry their own separate date, because they change independently of everything else.
How we handle prices
Prices in this market are harder to compare than they look, for one specific reason: most quotes combine a representation fee with system participation, and those behave completely differently. We treat them as separate figures and never merge them into a single number.
We publish a price only when we have seen it ourselves on the provider's own website or in their ordering process, and we record where and when. Where a provider prices by volume, there is no single figure to publish, and we say so rather than inventing a starting price. Where a provider publishes nothing, the entry stays empty.
This means our table currently shows far more empty price fields than filled ones. We consider that the honest state of the market rather than a gap to paper over.
Reading the labels
Three labels appear throughout the directory and they mean different things:
| Label | What it means |
|---|---|
| On request | The provider does not publish a price for this service. Contact them for a quote. |
| Not yet checked | We have not verified this ourselves yet. It says nothing about the provider. |
| Unclear | The provider does not state this on their website. It is not a negative assessment and does not mean the service is unavailable. |
"Unclear" is the label we use most, and it is worth being explicit about it. A provider who writes less on their website will accumulate more of them than a provider who writes a great deal. That is a difference in how much they publish, not in what they can do.
Claims we cannot verify
Some providers state that they are registered as an authorised representative in LUCID. There is no way for anyone to check this independently, because the Zentrale Stelle Verpackungsregister does not publish a list of registered representatives. Where a provider makes that claim, we show it as the provider's own statement and mark it accordingly.
This is a limitation of the market, not of the individual provider.
Who is listed
Listing is free and does not depend on any commercial relationship. We include providers that publicly offer packaging authorised representation for Germany. Companies offering adjacent services — compliance software, consultancy, or representation for other product streams only — are listed separately and are not part of the comparison, so that like is compared with like.
Where we could not establish that a company actually offers packaging representation, we leave it out until we can.
Paid placements
Providers may pay for additional visibility. Where they do, the entry is labelled as such and the label is visible without hovering or clicking.
Paid placement does not change the ordering of the neutral comparison, does not affect any assessment, and does not make an entry appear more complete than it is. A paid entry carries the same empty fields as an unpaid one where the information is missing.
Corrections
If you are a provider and something here is wrong or out of date, tell us and we will correct it. Corrections are free and do not require any commercial relationship. If you would like us to record a price, we will publish it with the date and the source, the same way we do for everyone else.
What this site is not
EPRInfo.com is an independent overview. It is not an authorised representative, not a compliance provider, and does not give legal advice. Whether an obligation applies to your specific business is a question for a qualified advisor or for the Zentrale Stelle Verpackungsregister.
